When installing a backsplash or other wall tile, you may notice that the finished tile surface extends beyond the electrical outlet box. This can make it difficult to reinstall the outlet or cover plate properly once the tile installation is complete.
To solve this issue, we recommend using electrical outlet box extenders (also called outlet spacers or box extenders). These inexpensive devices bring the outlet forward so it sits flush with the finished tile surface, helping ensure a safe and professional installation.
